Effective with the Council elections of 2010 for terms beginning January 1, 2011, or after, no person shall serve more than three consecutive four year terms on Council, plus a period not to exceed one year of an unexpired term. This limitation shall apply regardless of whether the three consecutive terms are from one or more Wards, at-large or any combination thereof. Current council members may serve three full terms commencing after December 31, 2010, regardless of previous service.
