There is hereby created the official office and title of Deputy Finance Director. The Deputy Finance Director shall act in lieu of and in place of the Finance Director during his absence for any reason whatsoever and in the event the office of Finance Director shall become vacant. All of the Deputy’s actions shall be deemed as official acts of the Finance Director when made in his absence, and therefore, shall be the official acts of the City as relates to those duties and responsibilities imposed upon the Finance Director and now imposed upon the Deputy Finance Director as set forth and defined in Section 7.02 of the Charter. The Deputy Finance Director shall have all powers, privileges and duties conferred upon the Finance Director when acting in his absence and stead. Appointment to such position shall be made by the Mayor. The position shall be a non-civil service position and the person who holds it shall be subject to removal by the Mayor. The person holding the position of Deputy Finance Director may also hold an additional official job classification or description within the City which shall constitute the whole or entire compensation for such office, or Council, at its option, may provide for additional or independent compensation for such office. The Deputy Finance Director shall perform all of those duties referred to in Section 7.02 of the Charter and such other assignments as may be delegated by the Mayor.
