All initial and promotional appointments shall be for a period of one (1) year. All absences in excess of one (1) continuous month shall extend the probationary period until the employee has one full year of time worked. Initial appointment probationary employees may be removed at the sole discretion of the City at any time prior to the end of the probationary period with no right to appeal to the Civil Service Commission.
