All building drains shall have check valves or other backflow preventers. The failure to have proper functioning check valves or other backflow preventers shall serve as a defense to the township against any and all claims, including, but not limited to, a property damage claim or physical injury claim as a result of a sewage disposal event pursuant to M.C.L.A. § 691.1417.
