No person shall operate a watercraft within or through a designated bathing area or within or through any area which has been buoyed off designating it as an area in which watercraft are prohibited. Such areas shall be marked by a buoy, showing three feet above the waterline. The markings on the buoy shall be spaced so as to be visible all around the horizon. Lineal spacing between buoys shall be such that under normal conditions of visibility any buoy is readily visible from the next adjacent buoy. All waters surrounded by or lying between such buoys and the closet shoreline are thereby designated as an area closed to the operation of any watercraft.
Areas of otherwise controlled operation of watercraft shall be marked by a buoy, showing three feet above the waterline.
Markings on the buoy shall be so spaced as to be visible all around the horizon. Lineal spacing between such buoys shall be such that under normal conditions of visibility any such buoy shall be readily visible from the next adjacent buoy. All waters surrounded by, or lying between such buoy and the closest shoreline are thereby designated as an area wherein the designated restriction will apply in the operation of any watercraft. No colors or symbols, except as provided in rules of the Chief of Watercraft, shall be used for marking closed or controlled areas of boating waters.
