141.31 EDUCATIONAL INCENTIVE PLAN FOR POSITIONS EXEMPT FROM THE PROVISIONS OF FLSA.
   In keeping with the City's policy of encouraging professional improvement, in addition to the authorized pay range for those employees holding positions exempt from the provisions of FLSA, if an incumbent in a position exempt from the provisions of FLSA has attained a degree above and beyond the minimum required educational degree set forth in the position description for such position, subject to evidence of such degree and the Appointing Authority determining that the degree is applicable to the position held, the incumbent shall receive an annual Incentive pay equal to the minimum amount paid to those covered by bargaining unit contracts (IAFF, FOP - Officers, Sergeants or Captains), with such payment made by December 15 for any full calendar year in which the employee holds the degree. The Director of Public Service and Safety shall establish procedures for application for compensation under this section.
