At the sole discretion of the City, an employee may earn compensatory time off instead of pay for the overtime under the following conditions. Compensatory time off shall be computed at one and one-half times the number of hours of overtime involved. Employees may earn a maximum of 80 hours of compensatory time in any calendar year. At the end of the year, all unused compensatory time will be paid to the employee, and will be computed at the employee's rate of pay in effect at the time it is paid. All compensatory time will be scheduled by the Department Head or designee.
