Subject to the overriding provisions of the Civil Service Laws of Ohio and the rules and regulations of the Civil Service Commission of the City, seniority shall be an employee's uninterrupted length of continuous full time service with the City, commencing with the employee's last hire date. An employee shall have no seniority for the initial probationary period, but upon completion of the probationary period, seniority shall be retroactive to the current date of hire. No seniority shall accrue during period of unpaid leave of three (3) days or more, and shall terminate when an employee retires, resigns or is discharged for cause.
