Under the authority conferred upon Council by Ohio R.C. 713.01, Council, in the interest of public health, safety, convenience, comfort, prosperity and general welfare, establishes a City Planning Commission which shall be composed of seven members: the Mayor, the Director of Public Service and Safety, the President of the Board of Park Commissioners and four residents of the Municipality who do not hold an elective position in the City, who shall serve without compensation. The four residents shall be appointed by the Mayor for the term of six years each, except that the terms of the two first members appointed shall be for a period of three years.
The Mayor shall appoint, at the expiration of the term of the respective members of the Commission, their successors, and each one appointed of the four residents shall serve for a term of six years, respectively.
