In addition to the duties established by the Ohio Revised Code, the Fire Department of the City shall furnish emergency ambulance services in the City of Troy, and surrounding areas as directed by the Fire Chief, in those cases where private ambulance service is not immediately available. Such emergency ambulance service shall provide for the transportation of injured, disabled and sick persons to the most appropriate hospital or medical facility providing emergency care, and shall include the emergency first-aid service necessary to permit such transportation and to protect the lives of the individuals being assisted.
