The Fire Department of the City of Troy, in times of emergency, is authorized to extend its services or the use of its fire apparatus, after authorization by the Chief of the Fire Department, or the person in charge thereof in the absence of the Chief, to any point within one mile beyond the boundaries of the fire protection area of such Fire Department, whether the same be the municipal limits of the City of Troy, the limits of the contract areas or the limits of the mutual assistance areas.
