(a) Unless otherwise provided, whoever violates or fails to comply with any of the provisions of this chapter, including any provision of the IFC adopted in Section 1612.01, and including any order of the Fire Chief or his or her authorized representative made pursuant thereof, or builds in violation of any detailed statement of specifications or plans submitted and approved thereunder, or any certificate or permit issued thereunder, and from which no appeal has been taken, or fails to comply with such an order as affirmed or modified as provided in this chapter, within the specified time, is guilty of a misdemeanor of the third degree and shall be fined not more than five hundred dollars ($500.00), or imprisoned not more than 60 days, or both, for each offense. Unless otherwise provided, a separate offense shall be deemed committed each day during or on which a violation or noncompliance occurs or continues.
(b) The application of the penalty provided in division (a) of this section shall not be deemed to prevent the enforced removal of prohibited conditions, or the application of any other equitable remedy, including abatement of any nuisance.
