(a) Whenever any addition to a building or extension of land use results in an increase in the number of units used to measure required off-street parking spaces, and the addition or extension creates a need for an increase of more than 10% in the number of required off-street parking spaces, additional off-street parking shall be provided on the basis of the increase in the number of such units of measurement, according to the most recent provisions of Chapter 1262.
(b) Exception. In the case of additional dwelling units created by conversion of an existing dwelling, 1 off-street parking space shall be required for each additional dwelling unit so created.
