As used in this chapter:
(a) "Garbage" means putrescible wastes, and includes every refuse accumulation of animal, fruit or vegetable matter, used or intended for food, or that attends dealing in or preparation of foods.
(b) "Other materials" means and describes such other refuse items occasionally discarded by householders not fitting the descriptions of garbage or trash, including, but not limited to appliances, washers, driers, refrigerators, water heaters or other bulky or heavy items normally found in homes but infrequently discarded.
(c) "Recyclable waste or other material" means any item of waste or trash which may be reclaimed and which is considered salable by the Service Director pursuant to the rules and regulations authorized by Section 1060.06.
(d) "Trash" means and includes those wastes consisting of all refuse which is accumulated by individuals and businesses as in their normal day-to-day operations, except garbage and except building materials and debris resulting from or accumulating in the construction, alteration or major repairing of any building or structure. "Trash" includes, but is not limited to paper, boxes and other packaging material, grass, leaves, wood and tree limbs, brush, ashes, metal, clothing and glass.
(e) "Waste" means all trash, rubbish, garbage and other refuse or discarded material required to be removed from private or public places, exclusive of recognized industrial byproducts, building or construction materials including wood, metal, plastic or masonry, any soil or gravel, any explosive material, or any poisonous substance whatsoever.
