(A) A police officer shall have the authority to affix upon any vehicle parked in violation of any provision of this subchapter, a traffic tag giving notice of that violation and notifying the owner and/or operation of that illegally parked vehicle that if he or she shall pay the sum indicated on the violation notice at the office of the Northeastern Berks Regional Police Department within 72 hours from the time of the notice, such amount shall be deemed as and shall constitute the full penalty for that violation.
(B) If such payment shall not be made at the office within the 72-hour period, that violation shall be subject to prosecution and to the penalties prescribed in § 71.99(C).
