Pursuant to the authority conferred by state statutes, the objectives of these regulations are to provide for the orderly growth and harmonious development of the village; to secure adequate traffic circulation by means of coordinated street systems with relation to major thoroughfares and street adjoining subdivision, public walkways, public facilities, and other land uses; to achieve individual lots of reasonable utility and livability; to facilitate adequate provisions for transportation, water supply, stormwater drainage, sanitary sewerage, and health requirements; to establish standards for the construction of public improvements; to encourage the installation of street lights and street trees; to encourage adequate provisions for recreations areas, open space, school sites, and other public ways and facilities; to encourage adequate provisions for the control of erosion and sediment during development and construction; to encourage the installation of underground utilities; to provide for the further subdivision of tracts into smaller or larger parcels of land; and to provide administrative and review procedures for the attainment of these objectives.
