§ 36.104 BEREAVEMENT LEAVE.
Full-time employees shall be granted paid bereavement leave for the scheduled work hours on three consecutive working days following a death of an immediate family member (father, mother, children [including step or adopted], brother, sister, father-in- law, mother-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, grandparents, grandchildren, and spouse). Barring an emergency scheduling situation, the village will allow time off to attend the funeral of an aunt or uncle. This leave will be without pay; however, the officer may use vacation or personal leave time for the time off needed. Additional time off with pay through the use of vacation or personal leave or without pay may be granted if the time off does not conflict with the manpower requirements of the department. The bereavement leave shall not be counted as hours worked for purposes of calculating overtime.
