Seniority and the employment relationship shall be terminated in the event of the following:
(A) Voluntary and involuntary termination;
(B) An employee fails to return to work from layoff within five days of receipt of written notice to last known address;
(C) The officer is absent for three consecutive scheduled work days without authorization; or
(D) The officer does not return to work at the expiration of a leave of absence.
