§ 36.052 OVERTIME.
   (A)   (1)   Every officer covered by this agreement shall be paid at the rate of one and one-half of his or her regular hourly rate of pay for all hours worked in excess of 40 hours within a work week (Thursday through Wednesday). Any full-time officer who wishes to be considered for extra work assignments for a given month must provide the dates and hours of availability to the Chief prior to the twentieth day of the preceding month. Extra work assignments will then be offered to full-time officers when no bargaining unit part-time officers are available to work on a rotating basis if/when more than one full-time officer is available for a given work assignment. In instances of two officers requesting the same overtime assignment, seniority will prevail on rotating basis. (Note: The term “extra work” does not include hours worked by any part-time officers working less than 40 hours in a given week.)
      (2)   The Chief may schedule part-time officers to work any hours which do not constitute an overtime assignment.
   (B)   For unplanned overtime, i.e., overtime which is not known to be available until three days prior to the assignment, every attempt will be made to distribute the overtime fairly and equitably to bargaining unit members.
