In accordance with applicable law, neither the village nor the union shall discriminate against any employee covered by this agreement because of race, sex, age, religion, ethnic background, marital status, sexual orientation, handicap, or national origin. Any dispute concerning the interpretation and application of this chapter shall be processed through the appropriate federal or state agency or court rather than through the grievance procedure set forth in this chapter.
