Every person, firm, association or corporation owning and operating taxicabs or motor vehicles for hire/limousines under permit from the City may adopt a trade name, design, color scheme or method of painting or lettering such taxicabs or motor vehicles for hire/limousines that is approved by the Director. All taxicabs doing business under the same company name shall bear consistent markings. Such trade name, design, color scheme or method of painting or lettering shall include the following matter:
(a) A serial body number assigned by the Officer to each taxicab or motor vehicle for hire/limousine and painted on each side of the taxicab or motor vehicle for hire/limousine, except as provided in Section 773.07.
(b) The name of the owner or trade name under which he, she or it does business painted on each side of a taxicab. Whenever the name of a taxicab owner, or the trade name under which he, she or it does business, does not include any one of the words "taxicab", "taxi", "cab", then the word "taxicab" shall be painted on each side of the taxicab immediately beneath such name or trade name. Motor vehicles for hire/limousines shall be required only to display the name of the owner or trade name under which he, she or it does business either on the sides or on the rear of the vehicle along with the City of Toledo permit sticker.
