773.09. Temporary permits.
Any public vehicle owner holding at least one (1) current permit for either a taxicab or a motor vehicle for hire/limousine may request up to five (5) temporary permits of the same class as the current permit(s). Application for temporary permits shall be made to the Board of Review in the same manner as application for a regular permit.
Issuance of temporary permits shall be contingent upon the availability of sufficient permits within the maximum allowable number specified in Section 771.01 as well as upon meeting the same qualification requirements specified in Section 773.03, including payment of all permit fees.
A temporary permit shall be valid only until the next meeting of the Board of Review. Conversion of a temporary permit to regular permanent status shall be contingent upon the Board's approval.
No temporary permit shall be issued to a public vehicle owner whose current vehicle(s) operate under a business/trade name for which he/she is not the rights holder unless written authorization for the issuance of a temporary permit is given by the holder of the rights to the business/trade name to be used.
