765.20. Disposal of unclaimed vehicles.
   (a)    Unclaimed motor vehicles left on private or public property and ordered into storage shall be disposed of at the order of the Police Department to a motor vehicle salvage dealer, scrap metal processing facility as defined in Ohio Revised Code 4737.05, or to any other facility owned by or under contract with the City of Toledo. The disposal of such motor vehicles shall be conducted in the form of a sale by the Police Department or licensed auctioneer at public auction, after giving notice thereof by advertisement, published once a week for two successive weeks in a newspaper of general circulation in Lucas County, Ohio. The City of Toledo reserves the right to obtain title to any such vehicle pursuant to the provisions of the Ohio Revised Code.
   (b)    All net funds received from the disposition of unclaimed motor vehicles that are in excess of the administrative, auctioneer, towing and storage expenses resulting from the removal and storage of vehicles shall be credited to the City of Toledo General Fund.
