765.14. Reporting to Police Records Section; records.
   (a)   (1)    In the case of a third party tow, any tow operator, licensee or licensee's agent shall report the following information to the Police Records Section, before actually hooking up the vehicle: the make of the vehicle, license plate number, vehicle identification number, date of tow, time of the tow, location from which vehicle was towed, location where vehicle will be stored, reason for tow and the person ordering the tow. This section applies to all vehicle repossessions.
   (b)    For a police ordered or third party ordered tow, any tow operator or licensee shall maintain every record required by this section for the periods as follows:
      (1)    Three (3) years for each police ordered tow.
      (2)    Three (3) years for each third party tow.
      (3)    Three (3) years for each junked vehicle after junking is authorized in accordance with the provisions of this chapter.
      (4)    Said records shall be available for Police Department review during normal business hours.
