§ 113.27 ATHLETIC EXHIBITIONS.
   (A)    It shall be unlawful to conduct, operate, or exhibit any race between persons, animals, or vehicles, or any baseball game, boxing or wrestling matches, or any other athletic contest or exhibition for admission to which a fee is charged without having first procured a license therefor. The fee for such a license shall be as provided in § 110.25 of this Code. This section shall not apply to any athletic event conducted by educational institutions.
   (B)    The proprietor of an exhibition shall submit to the Village Clerk a statement verified under oath of the gross receipts of each game, contest, or race, within one week after the exhibition. At the same time, the proprietor or person exhibiting or operating such exhibition shall pay the amusement tax imposed by Chapter 126 of this Code, in accordance with that chapter.
   (C)    Sufficient members of the Police Department shall be admitted free of charge, to all exhibitions for the purpose of preserving and maintaining order. The Village Clerk may post a person or any number of persons at the box office of the performance; and may examine all the books pertaining to the performance showing or tending to show the gross receipts.
