The horizontal and vertical separation between water service lines and all sanitary sewers, storm sewers, or any drain shall be the same as for water mains, as detailed in §§ 50.095 and 50.096 above. However, when minimum horizontal and vertical separation cannot be maintained, brass, or copper, in addition to mechanical-joint, ductile-iron pipe, may be used for water service lines.
