165.17 JURY LEAVE.
   (a)   Any full-time employee whose work is not covered by a contract with a recognized and certified labor organization, who is subpoenaed or otherwise required to serve on a jury of any court of record or judicial tribunal during normal assigned working hours, or who is required to attend a court proceeding as a witness as upon subpoena, and who is not a plaintiff nor defendant in the proceedings, shall be paid the regular rate of pay and continued entitlement to all regular benefits, subject to all regular mandatory deductions or withholding.
   (b)   The employee under the conditions of subsection (a) hereof shall remit to the City Finance Director whatever sum is paid to him as compensation by the Court, Clerk or tribunal for his appearance or service, and shall supply to the Finance Department documentary proof of such appearance. During such service, the employee shall not be covered by Workers' Compensation nor be considered to be an employee of the City for any purposes, but shall retain all rights and benefits of health or medical coverage provided by his City employment.
