141.09 RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS.
   (a)   Any new appointee as a police officer in the classified service of the City must, within sixty days after appointment, become and remain an actual and bonafide resident of Seneca County or any county adjacent to Seneca County.
   (b)   All persons now holding classified positions in the Police Department and residing within Seneca County or an adjacent county to Seneca County shall continue to maintain their primary place of residence within that area at all times during their continued service with the City.
   (c)   Any persons now holding classified positions in the Police Department and not maintaining their primary place of residence within the area described in subsection (a) hereof shall, if they change their primary place of residence, establish and maintain their primary place of residence within the area established.
   (d)   Violation of the residency requirements or deliberate and willful misinformation as to residency shall be considered as just cause for removal, discharge, suspension or layoff, by the appointing authority.
   (e)   Upon approval by the City Administrator, residency requirements may be waived temporarily for not more than six months, or such additional time not exceeding six months as may be reasonable. (Ord. 15-43. Passed 8-3-15.)
