In order to protect existing and future water supply wells serving the City, the City Council declares that the storage, handling, use, production, or disposal of hazardous or toxic substances in the zone of contribution to public water supply wells is potentially harmful to the drinking water of the City and that certain activities are prohibited and regulated within certain defined wellhead protection areas.
