9-2-12: TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF WATER AND UTILITY SERVICES:
   A.   Any request for the activation or turning on, or the suspension or turning off of water services after four o’clock (4:00) P.M. or on weekends shall not occur unless the fee, established via resolution by the City Council, has been paid.
   B.   Any request for the activation or turning on of water at a location where suspension of service has occurred due to nonpayment by the user shall not occur unless the entire past due bill and a reconnection fee, established via resolution by the City Council, has been paid. This reconnection fee is in addition to the after four o’clock (4:00) P.M. or weekend fee.
   C.   City staff may, after appropriate investigation based upon need and hardship, waive all or a portion of the fees assessed in this section with the consent and approval of the Mayor.
   D.   If a customer or property owner desires to have their water service turned off, either temporarily (“snowbird”) or permanently, they must sign and submit this request on the forms prepared and approved by the City. Failure to sign and submit such request will mean that the utility service will remain in existence and the minimum monthly charge will be assessed.
   E.   Should a property owner or customer request water only service during construction, such service will only be provided after execution and submission to the city of Three Forks on forms approved by the city of such service accompanied by the applicable fee, if any.
   F.   Only employees of the city of Three Forks are authorized to access, turn on or turn off water. No exceptions.
   G.   The cost of any repairs of a faulty curb box valve are the sole responsibility of the customer or property owner and shall be assessed on the utility bill.
   H.   Absolutely no extensions or changes to these rules and regulations may be granted except by a majority vote of the Three Forks city council at a duly called council meeting. (Ord. 275-2003, 8-11-2003; amd. Ord. 393-2022, 5-24-2022)
