6-3-2: PURPOSE:
   A.   Establish Restrictions: The purpose of this chapter is to establish reasonable restrictions upon the time of day during which minors shall be allowed on any of the streets or other public places of the city. Such restrictions are enacted to further the general welfare of the community and specifically to further the following community interests:
      1.   The protection of the younger children in the city from each other and from other persons on the street during the nighttime hours;
      2.   The enforcement of parental control of and responsibility for their children;
      3.   The protection of the public from nocturnal mischief by minors;
      4.   The reduction in the incidence of juvenile criminal activity; and
      5.   Prevent exposure to and the possibility of being led into involvement with crimes of violence, destruction and/or self- destruction.
   B.   General Police Powers: These restrictions are enacted pursuant to the general police and other powers granted to self-government power local governments. (Ord. 234, 10-10-1995)
