Except as their salary may be increased by this section, each member of the City Council shall receive a salary of One Thousand Seven Hundred and Fifty and no/100ths ($1,750.00) Dollars per month, which shall be payable at the same time and in the same manner as salaries are paid to the other officers and employees of the City, effective December 2008, upon the seating of newly elected Council following the November 2008 election. In addition to said salary, the City shall contribute to the Public Employees Retirement System and provide such other miscellaneous benefits for that Councilmember as set forth in a Council resolution, provided any benefits are available to the general City employees.
