Sec. 9-4.2310. Special use permits.
   A freestanding sign, other than a way-finder sign in the C-2/AM Zone, not meeting the requirements of this article may be permitted by the Planning Commission, and on-building signs City-wide, as well as freestanding way-finder signs in the C-2/AM Zone only, not meeting the requirements of this article may be permitted by the Community Development Director, through the processing of a special use permit application filed in accordance with Article 28 of this chapter. In evaluating a special use permit application filed pursuant to this section, the Commission or Director, as applicable, must find that the sign will not be contrary to the purposes of this article, and that adverse effects can be prevented with the imposition of conditions.
