§ 52.01 INSTALLATION OF SHUTOFF VALVE IN NEW OR REMODELED BUILDINGS REQUIRED.
   (A)   When any property owner and/or lessee of any existing building in the city has a licensed plumber or a representative of the City Water Department to shut off the water supply at the water meter, that customer shall be notified in writing by the person performing that task that he or she must then have installed a shutoff valve within the building within 30 days from that date of shutoff. It is a violation of this section for anyone other than a representative of the Tell City Water Department and/or a licensed plumber to remove the lid of a water meter pit and/or physically work inside the meter pit. Licensed plumbers are to contact the Tell City Water Department if they are going to access the meter pit before the work is to be performed or if the work performed by a plumber is emergency work after hours, the plumber is to notify the Tell City Water Department immediately following the completion of the work during normal business hours for the Tell City Water Department.
   (B)   Any person who violates the terms of this section shall pay a fine of up to $250 and any such person who requires the Tell City Water Department personnel to be called out for the above reasons, shall pay all service call charges for those employees of the city based on then-existing call out rates.
