(A) The Mayor or Town Manager is authorized to implement Stage I (Voluntary Conservation) when the town’s water supply situation deems necessary. The Mayor or Town Manager is further authorized to terminate Stage I (Voluntary Conservation) based upon a change in the town’s water supply situation. The order to implement or to terminate Stage I (Voluntary Conservation) shall be made by public announcement, shall be published at least one time in a newspaper of general circulation in the town, and shall be forwarded to each member of the own Board of Commissioners.
(B) The order of the Mayor or Town Manager under this section shall:
(1) Issue a water shortage advisory to the public.
(2) Inform the public of the potential water shortage.
(3) Request customers to practice voluntary water conservation.
