(a) Pursuant to Section 14.02 of the Charter of the City of Tallmadge, the Civil Service Commission is hereby authorized and directed to amend its rules for the promotion, hiring, and selection process for the positions of Police Chief and Fire Chief in accordance with their Proposed Amendment to Civil Service Rules attached to Ordinance 16-2017 and incorporated herein.
(b) The Civil Service Commission is further authorized to adopt any further ministerial regulations necessary to implement and carry out the approved rules and which are not inconsistent therewith.
(c) By adopting the aforesaid rules and regulations, those portions of the general civil service law inconsistent herewith are inapplicable to the promotional, hiring, and selection process for Police Chief and Fire Chief are hereby null and void.
