Personnel of the Fire Department and/or Building Department duly authorized by the Safety Service Director shall be empowered to survey any residential dwelling unit to insure such structures are in compliance with this section. A notice shall be sent to the owner who is in non-compliance. Failure to comply after a thirty day period shall be deemed a violation of this chapter. Whoever violates any provisions of this chapter is guilty of a minor misdemeanor.
