Each registration or subsequent renewal under this chapter shall expire at twelve o'clock midnight on December 31 following the date of issuance. Application for renewal must be submitted to the Building Department prior to expiration of the current registration. All applications for renewal submitted thirty or more days after expiration shall be treated as a new application for registration. No work shall be undertaken by any applicant after expiration of the thirty day grace period until the application has been renewed or a new registration issued.
