(A) As provided for under R.C. § 715.26, all residences, apartments, commercial or industrial buildings shall have displayed in conspicuous place on the front of the building, visible from the street, the proper street address number which has been assigned to the building by the Village Administrator. All numbers shall be displayed in Arabic numerals only and the cost of the numbers shall be borne by the property owner. Address numbers shall be a minimum of four inches in height.
(B) Address numbers shall be conspicuously placed immediately above or at the side of the main entrance of each residence, apartment, commercial or industrial building or unit. Whenever any building is situated more than 50 feet from the street line, address numbers shall be minimum of six inches in height on the building. Address numbers a minimum of four inches in height may also be placed near a sidewalk, on both sides of a mailbox, at a driveway, at a common building entrance, upon a gate post, fence post, tree or other appropriate place so as to be easily discernable from the street.
(C) All owners of buildings upon which an address number has not been placed shall be required to cause the same to be placed upon such building as required by this section within 60 days from the passage of this section.
(D) For multi-family dwellings having only one main entrance shall be assigned only one address number and separate dwelling units in the building will carry a letter designation such as A, B, C and the like.
(E) For buildings containing two or more dwelling, commercial or industrial units containing more than one entrance, each serving a separate occupant, then each unit shall be assigned a separate number provided, that there shall be enough address numbers assigned to the lot in which the building is located to provide a number for each unit. In the event there are not sufficient address numbers assigned to the lot to serve each separate unit, each unit shall carry the principle address number plus a letter designation such as A, B, C and the like.
