The purpose of the committee shall be to review, evaluate, study and to make recommendations to the city council on all matters relating to public information, education, and economic development of the city, its residents, its commerce or industry and its visitors. The committee shall devote its attention to the creation, distribution or broadcasting of advertisement of any program or activity which presents positive, enhancing information concerning present or future commercial, recreational, cultural, social and industrial characteristics or programs of the city.
