8-1-2-3: AMENDMENTS TO THE 2018 INTERNATIONAL FIRE CODE:
Section 101.1 Insert: [City of Sun Valley, Idaho].
Section 106.2 is amended to read:
   106.2 Schedule of permit fees. A fee for each permit shall be paid in accordance with the schedule as set forth in Table 1-A as established by resolution 2020-13 of the city of Sun Valley.
Section 110.4 is amended to include:
   110.4 Violation penalties. Insert: [misdemeanor] [$300.00] [90 days]
Section 112.4 is amended to read:
   112.4 Failure to comply. Any person who shall continue and work after having been served with a stop work order, except such work as that person is directed to perform to revoke a violation or unsafe condition, shall be liable to a fine of up to $300 per day.
Section 503.2.7 is amended to read:
   503.2.7 Grade. The grade of the fire apparatus roads including driveways shall be no more than 7% unless otherwise approved by the fire chief up to a maximum of 10%.
Section 307.4.3 is amended to read:
   Section 307.4.3 Portable outdoor fireplaces. Portable outdoor fireplaces shall burn non-solid fuel only, be used in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions, and shall not be operated within 15 feet of a structure or combustible material.
Section 307.4.3 is amended by deleting the exception.
Section 307.4.3.1 is added to read:
   Section 307.4.3.1 Outdoor Fire Pits and Fireplaces. Temporary fire pits, non-temporary fire pits, and outdoor fireplaces shall burn non-solid fuel only.
Section 505.1 sentence six is amended to read:
   505.1 Address identification. Each character shall be not less than 6 inches in height with a stroke width of not less than 0.5 inches and shall be placed a minimum of 4 feet above finished grade.
Section 507.5.5 is amended as follows:
   Section 507.5.5 Clear Space Around Hydrants. A 5-foot (1524 mm) clear space shall be maintained around the circumference of fire hydrants, except as otherwise required or approved.
Section 903.2.1.1 Group A-1 condition 1 is amended as follows:
   2.   The fire area exceeds 6,000 square feet.
Section 903.2.1.3 Group A-3 condition 1 is amended as follows:
   1.   The fire area exceeds 6,000 square feet.
Section 903.2.1.4 Group A-4 condition 1 is amended as follows:
   1.   The fire area exceeds 6,000 square feet.
Section 903.2.3 Group E condition 1 is amended as follows:
   2.   Throughout all Group E fire areas greater than 6,000 square feet in area.
Section 903.2.4 Group F-1 condition 1 is amended as follows:
   2.   A Group F-1 fire area exceeds 6,000 square feet.
Section 903.2.7 Group M condition 1 is amended as follows:
   3.   A Group M fire area exceeds 6,000 square feet.
Section 903.2.9 Group S-1 condition 1 is amended as follows:
   2.   A Group S-1 fire area exceeds 6,000 square feet.
Section 903.2.9.1 Repair Garages conditions 1 and 2 are amended as follows:
   1.   Buildings having two or more stories above grade plane, including basements, with a fire area containing a repair garage exceeding 6,000 square feet.
   4.   Buildings not more than one story above grade plane, with a fire area containing a repair garage exceeding 6,000 square feet.
Section 903.2.10 Group S-2 enclosed parking garages condition 1 is amended as follows:
   3.   Where the fire area of the enclosed parking garage exceeds 6,000 square feet.
Section 5704.2.9.6.1 is amended to read:
   Section 5704.2.9.6.1 Locations where above-ground tanks are prohibited. Storage of Class I and II liquids in above-ground tanks is prohibited within the limits established by law as the limits of districts in which such storage is prohibited within the geographic limits as determined by the fire chief.
Section 5706.2.4.4 is amended to read:
   Section 5706.2.4.4 Locations where above-ground tanks are prohibited. The storage of Class I and II liquids in above-ground tanks is prohibited within the limits established by law as the limits of districts in which such storage is prohibited within the geographic limits as determined by the fire chief.
Section 5806.2 is amended to read:
   Section 5806.2 Limitations. Storage of flammable cryogenic fluids in stationary containers outside of buildings is prohibited within the limits established by law as the limits of districts in which such storage is prohibited within the geographic limits as determined by the fire chief.
Section 6104.2 is amended to read:
   Section 6104.2 Maximum capacity within established limits. Within the limits established by law restricting the storage of liquefied petroleum gas for the protection of heavily populated or congested areas, the aggregate capacity of any one installation shall not exceed a water capacity of 2,000 gallons (7570 l) within the geographic limits as determined by the fire chief.
Appendix A: Board of Appeals is deleted in its entirety and is amended to read as follows:
   Section A101 General. Appeals made pursuant to the International Fire Code shall follow the rules and regulation of Appendix B of the International Building Code as amended by the City of Sun Valley.
Appendix D Section D103.2 is amended to read:
   D103.2 Grade. The grade of the fire apparatus roads including driveways shall be no more than 7% unless otherwise approved by the fire chief up to a maximum of 10%.
