(A) Size of water mains will not be less than six inches in diameter (residential) and not less than eight inches in diameter (for commercial or industrial zoned installations). Material of all mains must be C-900 PVC or cast iron.
(B) Depths of lines shall be not less than three and one-half feet but not more than four feet.
(C) Loops rather than dead-ends are recommended. Where dead-ends are used, a two-inch minimum blow-off hydrant shall be installed.
(D) All material must be provided by the independent contractor from his or her supplier. All material is to be of standard quality and weight, and mains are to be provided with properly serviced valves applicable to the size of the main.
(E) Under the guidelines and rules of the state, as well as the advice and instruction of the State Board of Accounts Examiner, the Sunman Utility Department must not purchase for resale to contractors or reduce its inventory by sales to contractors. Such policies are unacceptable as they pertain to the financial accountability of the Sunman Utility Department.
