§ 52.38  SHUT-OFF VALVE REQUIRED.
The customer shall furnish, install, and maintain a shut-off valve in the water line at a point that will protect his or her property in case of failure of the water utility lines or equipment.  This valve shall be placed at a point where the property owner’s line enters his or  her residence or building.  This allows the customer to shut off the water source when needed repairs are required.  At no time is the customer or property owner to shut off the source of supply in the meter tile.  If the water utility is requested to shut off the water at the meter tile, the customer will be required to pay a service fee.
