The purpose of this chapter is to protect the health, safety and wellbeing of people and property in the township through the regulation of conduct relating to weapons. The purpose of this chapter is also to protect the property rights of residents, businesses and entities in the township, as well as deter theft and burglary by regulating certain types of trespassing, access to vacant structures and closed businesses. This chapter provides authority to peace officers to investigate crime and otherwise protect themselves and the public during the performance of their duties. Additionally, this chapter regulates conduct to protect the health, safety and welfare of juveniles in the township.
