(A) The adoption of a resolution the acceptance of payments by financial transaction devices is within the purview of the Township Board pursuant to Public Act 280 of 1995.
(B) The Treasurer of Summit Township has determined acceptable financial transaction devices (such as credit cards).
(C) Effective 7-1-2001, Summit Township authorizes the use of financial transaction devices and authorizes the Treasurer to proceed to implement their use according to the following policy. Financial transactions that may be made by a financial transmission device shall include:
(1) Real and personal property taxes; and
(2) Water and sewer payments.
(D) Summit Township wishes to allow residents and businesses the opportunity for an additional method of payment for property taxes and water/sewer payments.
(E) Summit Township will designate any future financial transaction devices as well as the acceptance of any financial transaction devices for special assessments, permit fees, and the like.
