For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
ANTIQUE DEALER. Any person who sells, transfers, or disposes of any antiques in the ordinary course of business.
ANTIQUES. All goods, wares, merchandise, or other personal property held for sale at retail, which have an estimated age of at least 100 years.
JUNK DEALER. Any person who keeps a junk shop or engages in the business of buying and selling old rope, old iron, brass, tin, copper, lead, empty bottles, rubber, paper, or other articles commonly known as junk, or drives or causes to be driven through the streets of the township any vehicle for the purpose of collecting any such articles.
SECONDHAND DEALER. Any person who sells, transfers, or disposes of any secondhand goods in the ordinary course of business.
SECONDHAND GOODS.
(1) Any goods, wares, merchandise, or other personal property acquired or purchased after having been acquired at retail and used by another.
(2) The term shall also include goods, wares, merchandise, or other personal property repossessed or reacquired under the terms of any conditional sale, title retaining contract, or purchase money chattel mortgage, or which shall have been acquired by way of trade-in, exchange, barter, or application toward the purchase price of any other article.
(3) The term shall not include antiques, motor vehicles, trailers, junk, or precious items as defined by Public Act 95 of 1981, being M.C.L.A. §§ 445.481 et seq., M.S.A. 19.720(1) et seq., as amended.
