§ 95.03 FALSE ALARMS.
   (A)   An alarm user whose alarm system has a false alarm that requires a law enforcement or Fire Department response to the address of the alarm system is responsible for a municipal civil infraction as follows:
      (1)   For the first and second false alarm during a calendar year, the alarm user will receive a warning letter from the Jackson County Sheriff's Office on behalf of the township.
      (2)   For the third and fourth false alarm during the calendar year, the appropriate alarm user is responsible for a municipal civil infraction punishable by a fine of $100.
      (3)    For every false alarm thereafter during the calendar year, the appropriate alarm user is responsible for a municipal civil infraction punishable by a fine of $250.
   (B)   A person who intentionally activates or causes a false alarm is guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by up to 90 days in jail and/or a $500 fine, plus cost of prosecution. This section does not apply if the person notifies the Jackson County Sheriff's Office of their intent to test the alarm system prior to activating the alarm.
