The Summit Township Board recognized that alarms and 9-1-1 calls are taken very seriously by emergency service personnel. False alarms and unnecessary 9-1-1 calls take limited law enforcement, fire and ambulance resources away from actual emergencies and delay responses to other citizens. The purpose of this chapter is to prevent unnecessary responses to false alarms or 9-1-1 calls by law enforcement, fire or emergency medical personnel in the township.
