§ 51.126 HARDSHIP; DEFERRAL OF TAP FEE.
   (A)   Upon receipt of evidence of hardship, the township may defer partial or total payment of a sewer tap fee.
   (B)   As a condition for a deferred or partial payment of a tap fee the township may require mortgage security on the real property of the person applying for the hardship deferment. The security may, depending upon the circumstances be payable upon sale or transfer of the real estate, or upon death of the person applying for the deferment.
   (C)   HARDSHIP within the definition of this section shall include but not be limited to those persons who reasonably are unable to pay all or part of the sewer connection or tap fee by reason of permanent unemployment, sub-standard income, sub-standard fixed income, extraordinary financial obligations on the part of the person applying for the deferment or extraordinary illness or the part of the person or a member of the family of the party applying for the deferment.
   (D)   No deferment or partial payment for a connection or tap fee shall be made until such time as the township receives written evidence of the hardship, and/or other evidence as may be required by the township from time to time.
