161.02 POWERS AND DUTIES.
   The Criminal Justice Advisory Board shall exercise all of the powers and fulfill all of the duties of the former Corrections Planning Board and Criminal Justice Coordinating Council. In addition, the powers and duties of the Advisory Board shall include, but are not limited to, the review of program developments, problems and concerns from a systematic approach and perspective, making recommendations regarding policies, procedures and new programmatic initiatives, the analysis of the criminal justice system, making recommendations of methods to expedite the criminal justice process to prevent system overcrowding, making recommendations regarding alternative programs including, but not limited to, pre-trial release and treatment programs and making recommendations regarding any systematic approaches, concepts and plans to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the criminal justice system of the County of Summit. The Criminal Justice Advisory Board shall establish bylaws in conformity with this chapter that shall state the composition of its members, establish an executive board, establish ad hoc committees as deemed necessary to fulfill its mission and provide a systematic format for planning, recommendations and actions it determines are necessary to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the criminal justice system of the County of Summit.
